Dua Before & After Meals

Why This Dua

The Prophet ﷺ said: 'When one of you eats food, let him say Bismillah. If he forgets at the beginning, let him say: Bismillahi awwalahu wa akhirahu.' After the meal: 'Alḥamdu lillāhi-lladhī aṭʿamanī hādhā wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlin minnī wa lā quwwah' — All praise is for Allah, who fed me this and provided it for me, without any might or power on my part. Eat with the right hand.
